It's been a rainy, cold miserable day over the last few days so I haven't gotten any walks in. We were under a weather advisory with winds gusting to 85 km/h and heavy rain.
​
I was going to go on my walk with my senior group yesterday but I don't love being blown around in a downpour. I also love to take photos which isn't a great recipe for camera equipment.
​
I also just wrapped up a year long membership think tank I was in yesterday. I was sad to see it end but sometimes you have to cut the cord and move on, so I understand why that happened. I was probably growing too comfortable with having those tools available that I most likely took them for granted and I surely didn't utilize them as often as I should have.

That's typical with memberships though. So much choice, not enough time. Especially if you're in a bunch of memberships. 😁

We've had the wildest, most bizarre weather over the last month. Two weeks ago we saw some unseasonably warm temperatures where the temperatures soared to 18 degrees C.

A week before that, when I went on my walk with my senior group, I was wearing icers and had so much snow packed under them, my friends had to take turns tapping the icebergs out from under our cleats as shown in the picture above. I was exhausted from that walk as it must have added a good five pounds to each leg!
​
It's funny because those icers remind me a bit of the group coaching program I just wrapped. Like those cleats that helped me make my way up icy hills, which I could have never done unassisted, I found that program so essential when I really needed it. But at a certain point, those cleats slowed me down.

It was almost like my blindingly brilliant coach knew that the warmer weather was here and it was time to remove those cleats and gently push me out. 🤣

But enough with the metaphors. I was looking forward to not wearing icers after the heat wave we had recently, but apparently I might need to hold onto them for awhile longer as it's currently snowing.
